Kristy Derk Art Director
Kristy Derk is a 2006 graduate of Kutztown University with a BFA in
Communication Design and dual concentrations in Graphic Design and
Advertising Design. During her senior year at Kutztown, she was among 4
students chosen to participate in a National Portfolio Review in New
York City. She also completed an internship with the prestigious
Partners Design in Bernville, PA and studied abroad through the KU-UK program.
Kristy's professional career began with Clear Channel Outdoor. In
2007, she was recognized by the Philadelphia FBI for the successful aid
of her "WANTED" digital billboard design in capturing several criminal
offenders. The design was then used on digital outdoor networks
nationwide. In 2010, Kristy joined the Interstate Outdoor Advertising team as Art Director. Kristy also maintains several freelance clients
and enjoys educating others about the benefits of good design and
bringing out the beauty in all things.
A Lifetime Member of the Girl Scouts, Kristy volunteers her time
each year for Schwaben Covered Bridge Day Camp, which she attended and
has been involved with since childhood. Kristy is also a Gold Award
recipient and scholarship winner, the highest award in Girl Scouting.
As part of earning this honor, Kristy led a campaign to collect school
supplies, which were then distributed to struggling schools worldwide
by the American Red Cross.
As The Drew A. Katz Foundation's most recent team member, Kristy hopes to
expand her philanthropic pursuits by bringing all of her best qualities
and design skills to the table.
